How do I start my OPT-Centre Program?

The first step to initiating your Online Personal Treatment Centre (OPT-Centre) program is to register your unique Personal Access Code (PAC) and log in or click on the URL link provided to you.

A sore back is an extremely personal thing

Your back pain is as individual and unique as your fingerprint. Behind all of the contributing factors is a complex web of causative elements which varies greatly from one person to another. Lifestyle, personal circumstances, fitness and mindset (to name a few) all come into play.

It follows there can be no 'one-size-fits-all' solution. Applying a universal set of recommendations may help a few people, but generally be somewhat ineffective for a great deal more.

Creating a detailed profile of each person and their sore back is the essential first step for effective treatment. Each contributing factor must be accurately identified and quantified. This information becomes the foundation upon which an effective best-practice treatment program can be designed and developed.

Because every person's sore back is unique to that individual, each case must also receive personalised treatment. In-line with recent research, effective treatment must be designed around the following 'Golden Rules' of treatment.

  • Self-treatment is the key to addressing low back pain. Relying on someone else to miraculously cure the condition generally produces poor long-term results. People need to take an active role and take a lot of the curative steps themselves - with support, guidance and advice available along the way.
  • Reduce clinic time by keeping those affected OUT of treatment rooms as much as possible. This reduces iatrogenic (physician-induced) disability and addresses poorly-performing reliance/dependency behaviours.
  • Address fears and myths (in their numerous and varied guises) as they have proven to be two of the primary contributors to the ongoing (chronic) nature of the condition.
  • Personalise treatments by designing programs that reflect and accommodate the vast range of causative and contributing elements each person exhibits.
  • Address causes not symptoms by avoiding common passive symptomatic treatments that may help those affected feel better for a day or two but require multiple ongoing treatments.
  • Implement a multi-faceted approach that includes physical, emotional and lifestyle recommendations and provides guidance and support throughout the treatment process.

Sore Back Solution's OPT-Centre ticks all of the boxes above that well-documented research now shows effective back pain treatment MUST contain. Without it the long-term results are generally poor.

The Sore Back Solutions Edge

Sore Back Solutions has brought together leading-edge research findings and innovative computer technology to create a revolutionary sore back treatment service. A 21st-century solution to an age-old problem, you might say.

It allows those affected by low back pain to develop their own unique, personalised treatment program, then follow it through and have their progress monitored along the way. They can do all this online without ever having to make a single visit to a treatment provider (providing no sinister symptoms are exhibited) and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels with no specialised equipment needed.

Sore Back Solutions ensures each person's problem is individually assessed and is given a made-to-measure treatment program. It puts those affected by back pain in charge of their own treatment.

How Sore Back Solution's OPT-Centre works

The Road To Recovery

Sore Back Solution's OPT-Centre features comprehensive personalised self-treatment programs, information, recommendations and support in either online or downloaded video, audio or printed formats which are all accessed from each user's Personal Page.

At the heart of the OPT-Centre beat the following primary resources:

  1. OPT-Screening

At the front-end of the OPT-Centre Users are firstly required to complete an online screening questionnaire to ensure only those suitable to undertake the programs are granted access and only appropriate recommendations are given.

  2. OPT-Analysis

Users then complete an online multiple-choice diagnostic analysis questionnaire. The OPT-Analysis consists of a comprehensive range of questions relating to all facets of back pain.

  3. OPT-Programs

A series of six 'graduated' fortnightly personalised treatment modules called 'OPT-Programs' are generated from Users OPT-Analysis responses ('2' above). Each OPT-Program becomes progressively more challenging as users complete them. OPT-Programs target the physical or 'mechanical' aspects of back pain and focus on stretching/flexibility, strengthening/stability and cardiovascular fitness.

  4. OPT-Reports

A comprehensive personalised 'OPT-Report' which features advice, recommendations and identifies any causative/contributing factors is also generated from users' OPT-Analysis responses ('2' above). OPT-Reports target powerful psychosocial, behavioural and lifestyle elements that contribute to low back pain - now considered to be a potent influence on recovery. The resulting recommendations are prioritised through the use of 'Red', 'Yellow' and 'Green' light logos which clearly define areas users need to address first.

  5. OPT-Assessments

To monitor progress, users are required to answer a fortnightly 'OPT-Assessment' online which will determine whether their condition is improving, deteriorating or staying the same. OPT-Assessments have been specifically developed from medically accepted questionnaires based on Oswestry and Roland-Morris Outcome Assessments.

  6. OPT-Journal

The OPT-Journal is printed from the Personal Page and used to identify areas that may be contributing to each users condition. Once identified, users can then begin to work towards modifying the primary contributors. These may be work issues, certain actions/movements or any range of lifestyle factors. Users can also seek advice from their employer or their treatment provider for assistance on how to modify any identified contributors.
